Hi! I'm Emily.

Sunlight filters through trees in a lush green forest, illuminating the dense foliage and casting shadows on the forest floor.

I'm a former teacher, homeschool mom, author, illustrator, creek explorer, fossil finder, and founder of Bramble & Creek Press.

I started Bramble & Creek Press in 2026 with a simple goal: to create timeless keepsakes that help families capture and preserve a child's imagination at a specific moment in time.

The idea was born during a season when my own children were constantly writing stories and creating illustrations on folded pieces of construction paper. Every day seemed to bring a new masterpiece and I found myself wanting to save every single one. Their drawings, ideas, and stories felt too precious to disappear into a pile of papers tucked away in a drawer.

I began imagining a different kind of book; one that invited children to become part of the story itself. A book that wasn't simply read, but created. A keepsake that could be revisited years later as a snapshot of how a child once saw the world.

A family of four with a dog outdoors in a grassy field with trees in the background, one young boy in the foreground, a woman and a man holding hands walking with the dog, and a little girl on the right side.

So I started sketching ideas, writing stories, and leaving space for little hands and big imaginations. Eventually, The Creek was born.

Having spent nearly a decade in the classroom and now educating my own children at home, I've seen firsthand the value of rich literature, creativity, wonder, play, and imagination. Those experiences continue to shape every project we create at Bramble & Creek.

From the beginning, I also knew I wanted this work to extend beyond our own family. Through book donations and community partnerships, part of our mission is to help place books into the hands of children, families, and classrooms where they can make the biggest impact.

Thank you for being here! I hope Bramble & Creek Press inspires your family to slow down, create together, and preserve a little bit of childhood magic along the way.

With love and imagination,

Emily

The I Start, You Finish™ Collection invites children to become part of the story. Each book begins with a story and simple illustrations, leaving space for young readers to add their own artwork, ideas, and imagination. The result is a one-of-a-kind keepsake that captures how they saw the world at that moment in time.

We’d love to hear from you.

Where Stories Become Keepsakes

The I Start, You Finish™ Collection is a series of interactive children’s books designed to make the reader part of the story. Each book begins with hand-drawn illustrations and invites children to finish them in their own way, adding color, creatures, details, and imagination as they go. No two finished books will ever be quite the same, creating a one-of-a-kind keepsake made by your child.

At Bramble & Creek Press, we create books and keepsakes that invite children and families to slow down, wonder, imagine, and make memories together.

We believe the stories children help create become some of the stories they carry with them the longest. Through books, creative projects, and community, our goal is to nurture creativity, celebrate childhood, and place meaningful books into the hands of families and classrooms where they can make the biggest impact.

OUR MISSION

Creativity belongs to everyone

Children are not just readers, observers, or consumers. They are makers, dreamers, storytellers, and artists. Our books create space for them to participate in the creative process and leave their mark on the stories they love.
